To be considered for fellowship support, you must:
Be a citizen or national of the United States, a permanent resident of the United States or a permanent resident of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands.
Have earned a baccalaureate or comparable degree before the fellowship period begins and be admitted to or currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at Michigan State University.
Intend to complete an advanced graduate program (disciplinary, interdisciplinary, professional, doctorate or masters) at Michigan State University with a concentration on international development.
Show potential for high academic achievement, as evidenced by such indices as grade point average or other measures.
Applicants must agree to pursue full-time graduate study and propose a course of study that includes both language training and international development course work. Students at the dissertation stage must engage in full-time research and utilize the foreign language for the research.
