Graduate Specialization

graduate specialization requirements

Students enrolled in the Graduate Specialization will develop their course of study in consultation with the graduate academic adviser for international development in the College of Social Science and their departmental adviser.

Examples of thematic areas pursued by students pursuing the specialization focus on various development themes such as:

  • Managing Development
  • Understanding Poverty
  • Environment and Development
  • World Trade and Development
  • Gender, Globalization and Development

Any course that was used to satisfy the requirements for the Undergraduate Specialization in International Development may not be used to satisfy the requirements for the Graduate Specialization in International Development.

It is important that the student work with the specialization adviser as he or she progresses in the same way he or she would work with an academic adviser.

The student's program of study must be approved by the graduate academic adviser for international development in the Center for Advanced Study of International Development and must meet the specialization requirements.
