TRAVEL POLICIES
- Center for Advanced Study of International Development (CASID)/Women and International Development (WID) funds are intended to be supplemental in nature. Departments and colleges (combined) must provide equal match to the CASID/WID grant made to a faculty member (a 50/50 match). Grant funds in a Michigan State University (MSU) account and dedicated to travel costs can be substituted for college or department matching funds.
- CASID/WID funds may only be used for airfare expenses, per diem and related meeting or conference costs.
- Individuals may not receive more than one award within a four year period.
- Tenure system core and consulting faculty are given higher priority, but all MSU faculty (NOT visiting faculty) are eligible.
- The directors of CASID and WID, or designee, will make final decisions on award recipients and levels of funding.
- The traveler must comply with MSU travel procedures as outlined in the MSU Manual of Business Procedures.
- The faculty member's department is responsible for making the travel arrangements and preparing the required travel authorizations and vouchers.
