Stacia Welter, assistant coordinator for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, joined the Center for Advanced Study of International Development (CASID) staff in 2004. Stacia holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and a master of education degree in higher education.

Stacia comes to CASID with eight years of experience in Student Affairs, most recently managing a residence hall complex at Michigan State University (MSU) from 1999-2004. Previously she held positions at the University of Toledo and Chatham College. She has experience in conference and program planning, leadership development facilitation, conflict resolution and mediation, and advising. Throughout her childhood, Stacia's family was host to several international exchange students, fueling her interest in international relations. She has also traveled to the former Soviet Union.

Stacia manages the day-to-day operations of the Humphrey Program. This program brings mid-career professionals from developing countries to MSU for a year of graduate-level studies and professional development.
