Christian is a PhD student in Medical Anthropology here at MSU. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia from 2000-2002 in the Community Action for Health Program in a rural area of the Northwest Province. During his masters program he was a research assistant with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Global AIDS Program, research in public/private partnerships in multinational companies in Gauteng, South Africa; the resulting thesis is titled "HIV Worksplace Initiatives in South Africa and the United States." In the Crisis Corps Christian was the monitoring and evaluation coordinator for Mpatamatu Home Based Care in Luanshya, Zambia. He has also worked without Doctors with Borders in Tanzania, as the health education coordinator for an HIV treatment project. Currently studying Portuguese as a CASID FLAS Fellow, Christian plans on working in Mozambique with people living with HIV/AIDS associations and their access to health care resources.

He is the editor of the CASID Current and assists with the Hubert. H. Humphrey Fellowship Program.
